Ford Excursion QVM |
The Ford Excursion Qualified Vehicle Modifier Program (QVM) is
designed to ensure that limousine builder's processes meet the
same rigorous industry and governmental standards as the
other QVM conversion programs. Through QVM, the Ford
Motor Company Excursion Division helps the
limousine conversion industry improve quality and customer
satisfaction. More important, Ford Excursion Qualified Vehicle
Modifiers have the technology and processes to build quality
conversions to factory standards using warranted components
and assemblies wherever possible, thus meeting Ford's
standards. You're assured the
exceptional Ford quality you expect from chassis start to
conversion completion.

Ford Announces Excursion Limousine Package
Stretching the opportunities for Qualified Vehicle
Modifiers (QVM), Ford has approved and certified its
Excursion platform for limousine conversions. The
heavy-duty sport utility vehicle is the first manufacturer-
developed, -approved, and -certified limousine con-
version for an SUV.
After the concept version debuted in February,
Ford created the Excursion limousine conversion plat-
form. Featuring a 6.8-liter V-IO engine, automatic
transmission, and 4.30 rear axle, the Excursion is ideal
for the severe-duty service typical of limousine opera-
tion. For extra peace of mind, the QVM limousine pro-
gram includes a three-year! 1OO,OOO-mile ExtraCare
Extended Service Plan.
"There were a lot of converters in the market
doing non-certified Excursion limos on their own:' says
Paul Anderson, Excursion fleet marketing manager.
"Our certified package provides Ford Motor Company
support to ensure the finished vehicles are up to customers
high expectations."
This new limousine package assists the QVM coach-
builders in making sure that all QVM Excursion limou-
sines meet or exceed all applicable National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) standards.
